FOUNDATION UPDATES 2006 (2005 UPDATES)
One year on and the The Foundation is still very busy with several projects, and with your generous support helped many people recover from this disaster.
January 14th, 2006 – National Children’s Day – Thara Park
Children’s Day is celebrated throughout Thailand with dance shows, singing contests, games and arts and crafts contests for the children. The Foundation sponsored two tents at Thara Park in Krabi Town, which was filled with an estimated 4000 participants in the days events. Again we set up our popular medical clinic and provided the children with games, books, arts and crafts materials and singing shows for their entertainment. The response was overwhelming, and in attendance was Mr. Witoon Pinpimai of the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort. Mr. Witoon is representing the Resort’s parent company, the Starwood Group, in sponsoring the Sriphong Phukaoluan Foundation to expand its program in providing benefits to the children and families affected by the tsunami. We look forward to working with the Starwood Group, whose community efforts are well known.

The Foundation is now providing long term benefits for 89 children and families adversely affected by the tsunami. These children lost at least one parent during that morning of December 26, 2004. Still, there are more children in need of aid, and with your help we can support them all. In addition, the Foundation is drawing up plans to build a permanent community center, for all the families, children and residents of Krabi to use. As our size has grown, we are finding it more and more difficult to locate venues for our activities. A permanent community center open to residents of all ages, is our next dream to make our community a better place. Please help our dream come true.
