Letter From the President

December 31, 2006

The year 2006 has been both challenging and satisfying for the Sriphong Phukaoluan Foundation. The Foundation has grown in both size and scope, and is now supporting 101 tsunami children until age 18. With input from many dedicated professionals volunteering their time, we have been able to sponsor educational programs administered by the Krabi Board of Education and set up a monthly medical clinic under the direction of my brother and fellow Foundation Director, Dr. Chit Phukaoluan. Our staff have organized clothing drives to distribute clothes and household items to the needy families, and collected books for our future library. Our basic sponsorship programs of educational aid, food, transport and financial support continue to run efficiently under the direction of Mr. Apichat Langlongsa, or "Lah" our Manager of Field Operations.

The Starwood Group, owner of the Sheraton chain of hotels, has become an important partner with the Foundation. In addition to sponsoring 22 children until age 18, the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort, under the direction of Khun Witoon Pinpimai, is taking an active role in the daily operations of the Foundation. Their support for the Foundation cannot be understated.

The Foundation now enjoys 501c (3) tax exempt status through Give 2 Asia, and CAF America. This has helped us raise funds in the Untied States and Canada and firmly establishes the Foundation in those two countries.

A major fund raising effort by Foundation Director Robert Reynolds yielded good results after his return from a round the world trip. Sixteen new sponsors were added to the Foundation roster, as well as significant contributions to fund the start of the Krabi Community Center. As can be seen from the following financial statements, our financial condition is quite stable, and with continued close watch on our expenses, future fund raising efforts, and support from generous sponsors like yourselves, we are confident our programs will be fully funded and financial goals met.

The Krabi Community Center

The Foundation continues to pursue its plan to secure a part of the land in the Krabi Scout Camp to build the Krabi Community Center. This site is ideal for our purposes and will enhance programs available to the entire community. The new Governor Mr. Siwa Sirisaowalak has already participated in our recent Foundation Day and is an enthusiastic supporter of our programs, and we look to have this program started in the coming months.

We are very proud of the accomplishments made this year. These successes, large and small, could not have been achieved without the support of the many volunteers, both local and foreign. We want to especially thank the Office of the Governor of Krabi, the Office of the Mayor of Krabi Town, the Municipality of Krabi and its many employees who have given us their time, the Krabi Municipal Board of Education and teachers who donated their time and energy to provide programs for the children. In particular we would like to point out those school directors who were so kind to host our Foundation Days and provided a home to our activities. A special thanks to Mr. Chumnaan Naruepai (Director of Tesabaan 2 Klong Chilat School), Mr. Chumnaan Sangtong (Director of Uttarakit School), Mrs. Pamorn Naruepai (Director of Tesabaan 3 School) and Mr. Prapas Yingyong (Director of Tesabaan 1 School.) In addition, a special thanks to Mr. Boonserm Sunggapun of Serm Siam Beauty School, whose staff have volunteered to provide free health, skin care and beauty clinics for the children and their families. Lastly, we want to thank all of you who have given us the financial support to help these children whose lives were devastated by the tsunami of Dec. 26, 2004. We hope all of you will continue with us on this long journey to help these children and their families live a worthy life that they so truly deserve.
