University Scholarship Fund
As the years have passed since the tsunami, so have the needs of our children. The Tsunami Child Sponsorship Program, which we have been operating since 2005, provides for the children until age 18. While most of these children will most likely enter a trade or family business after they are 18, we have a few gifted student with the academic abilities to attend university. However, for these children the costs of a full four year university is well beyond their financial means, and only a dream.
Now, you can help make these children’s dreams come true. By sponsoring a child to attend university, you can help them reach their full potential and give them opportunities that they would have never realized before. Currently we are sponsoring one child with a full scholarship, and another with partial financial aid. We have three additional students who are in need of financial support.
Your $1000 donation pays for tuition, room and board, books and materials. The Foundation follows the academic progress of each child, and visits the university once a year. Sponsors will be updated on their student’s progress, and are encouraged to visit the child to see the benefits of their support firsthand.
Please invest in these children’s future through their education, as the benefits to the child, their communities and to the country will be many and felt for years to come.
